I have a question regarding the Stock function in openBIS.
Does anyone use it and have any experiences they would like to share?
It’s a good idea in itself, but there are a few things that bother me.
If you really want to make all your stuff (plasmids, oligos, media, consumables, chemicals, etc) orderable, then you have to use the object type ‘Product’ for everything. But this doesn’t fit everything, so you need additional properties. Or you can manage everything twice, once in the Inventory with the correct object types and once in the Stock. That is double work!
And the csv file that comes out at the end is not really nice.
How do you do it then? Do you send it on by e-mail?
