I am writing wondering if someone had the same issue.

I have both the AS and the DSS setup correctly (Version 20.10.7.3 (r1700646105)).
I verified that I can manually upload Datasets from the ELN-LIMS UI.

I share over the network two dropboxes (incoming-default and eln-lims-dropbox, from /home/openbis/data path) using samba and access them from Windows.

In brief, when I try to place a folder in the dropbox, despite having theorically the right sythax (E+SPACE+PROJECT+COLLECTION), a line is generated in the .faulty_paths and nothing happens (not even an error message in the Dropbox monitor). The same happens when trying to place Datasets in both Experiments and Objects.

On the other hand, when I place a file in the dropbox, it is stored correctly but in a DEFAULT object/sample with empty project and space. See the example below.

In the end, there was a configuration issue in samba (and windows).

So this is solved! But if anyone’s interested, I can expand on how I solved it.
