SOP Checklist / Equipment Booking

Dear openBIS community,

I’m exploring ways to extend the use of openBIS in our lab and was wondering if anyone has tried implementing the following features:

  1. SOP Checklists – A way to follow lab protocols step-by-step and mark steps as completed.
  2. Equipment Booking – A calendar or scheduling system to book lab instruments and check availability.

I’d love to hear about any solutions, integrations, or ideas you’ve tried!

You could have a look at this

I am not aware of anyone developing a calendar booking tool, however if you work on this we would be very grateful if you could share the code, because this would be a very useful feature to have.

Dear @lknipper , I know this is a forum for OpenBIS, however I think for equipment discovery and booking you could look at OpenIRIS. We are currently evaluating it and it seems to offer many of the features you need to manage equipments. An heads up for the OpenBIS team (@cbarillari ) to perhaps put an integration with that tool on the long term roadmap

I do not think we will have capacity to work on this any time soon.
However we would be very happy to include in openBIS, development work or integration work done by community members.
